October Prayer Points

October 18, 2015

Please pray with us through our October prayer points:

  • This family, the father of whom was a known drunkard in his village, recently came to faith in Jesus Christ by listening to the Word of God dramatized in his local language in one of the Proclaimer Bible Listening Groups.

  • A month after Angie’s Grandpa VanManen passed away, Angie’s other Grandfather, Robert Beute, passed away, on September 27, at the age of 96, and is now also experiencing glory with Jesus. While it is sad to see him go as well, we praise God for the long life he had and where he now is, with Jesus in a new body, free from pain and suffering. He leaves behind his wife of 75 years, 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was always so happy to see, spend time with and share with others about his grandchildren. He loved to make jokes and took every opportunity to encourage us in our faith in God. To both Grandpa VanManen and Grandpa Beute, we raise our glass…

  • Over 40 Riders/Walkers raised over $18,000 given by over 200 donors/sponsors specifically for Proclaimers (audio Bibles dramatized in the local language for weekly Bible Listening Groups) and Student Dormitories (rental rooms for university students as a sustainability project for the street-boys ministry) in this year’s Ride for Refuge! By God’s grace, I was able to ride 100mi/162km a couple days before the official Ride Day (click to see ROUTE and PHOTOS). If you missed out on sponsoring, it’s not too late – you have until October 21! Give by credit card via Canada or USA.

  • On Sunday, October 18 we head to Colorado for a week of counseling/coaching/leadership intensives at QuietWaters Ministries, a place which helps ministry leaders who have gone through a particularly difficult season to get back in touch with God, renew their sense of calling, restore their professional vision and priorities, and strengthen their personal relationships. Please pray that it may truly be such a time of further healing, renewal and restoration for us.

  • We are still in desperate need of a teacher, preferably with a K-8 teaching degree, for our four oldest children – Miriam (15), Avalien (10), Moses (9), and Zulea (5) – beginning in January to at least June 2016.

“Prayer concerns God, whose purposes and plans are conditioned on prayer. His will and His glory are bound up in praying.” – E.M. Bounds

Thank you for your continued partnership in prayer,
