May Prayer Points

May 23, 2015
  • We praise God for Rebekah Wissink and the year she was able to serve with us. She has not only been an amazing teacher for our children, but has really become part of our family and a huge help around the house, playing with and caring for the kids, cooking, cleaning… such a kind, joyful, servant heart! More than that, she has made huge impact in the lives of our neighbourhood kids and the Freedom Boys. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Pray for her as she transitions back to life in Michigan and starts up a new job as a teacher at a Christian elementary school. Pray for us as it will be a great loss for her to no longer be with us.

  • We will be in the Netherlands from June 9-20 and North America from June 21-October 15 to check on Amara’s lung, get American citizenship for Miriam and Zulea, meet with family and friends, share at partner churches, refresh and recuperate after a very difficult year, and raise funds for the Beyond Transformation Centre. Please pray that it may be a fruitful time.
  • We praise God that our much-valued/appreciated partnership with Christian Reformed World Missions has been renewed.

  • Praise God for providing us with an excavator to dig out the hatchery pond for the Beyond Fischage Project. Click here for photos.

  • Please continue to pray for our dear, long-time friend and partner Angelina. Last month she became paralyzed on the left side of her body due to a stroke (possibly a tumor). She traveled to Mulago Hospital in Kampala but didn’t receive any help and was told to come back in a month. She is now very weak, doesn’t eat and is bedridden. Her spirits are very low. We are now sending her to International Hospital Kampala with her son, Patrick.

  • Praise God for Soroti Prison Bible Listening Groups. They have already worn out their Ateso and their English Proclaimers, but not to worry – Tim’s Dad was able to repair them. They were ecstatic to get them back. We praise God for the unique access our friend and partner, Timothy Elianu, has to the prison and the incredible impact he is making on the men there. Please pray for him, for continued strength and perseverance in this ministry.
