Ministry Transitions

February 11, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,

Over the last number of months, God has made it increasingly clear to us and others that He is closing the door for us to continue working with International Teams, for the health of our family and the good of the ministry. We have therefore submitted our notice of resignation to International Teams. Consequently, we want to make you aware that any financial gift you send to International Teams from now on will be used by their general fund and will not go toward the ministry work of our family in developing the Beyond Transformation Centre.

That said, will you please pray with us about the future of the Beyond Transformation Centre.  We do still desire to continue our work on its development. To be sure, the need, opportunity and impact for such a ministry is huge. And while there have been some hiccups, hurdles and hurricanes along the way, we still see God is at work to make it happen. The groundwork has been laid; the plan has been written; land has been identified and negotiated on; partnerships have been formed; key relationships have been built; and the door for its continued development remains open. At the same time, we are also seeking the Lord and godly counsel on whether we should continue to develop the Beyond Transformation Centre or pursue other opportunities.

We are currently looking into possibilities of continuing ministry work with a couple of other organizations. Our prayer is that this change in affiliation will go smoothly. We will communicate with you soon, hopefully within a couple of weeks, to let you know where future financial gifts can be sent and to answer any questions that you may have, as best we can.  Today we simply want to inform you that any future donations sent to International Teams will be used by their general fund, and to ask you to pray. Please pray with us as we make this transition into this next phase of ministry, whether or not it is in the development of the Beyond Transformation Centre, that we may be filled with the Spirit and thus filled with the fruit of the Spirit, walking in step with the Spirit.

We will be forever grateful for the opportunity we’ve had to serve and work with International Teams for the last 9 years. We have grown in so many ways, learned so much, and have seen God transform lives (including our own) and communities in incredible ways here in Uganda, through ITeams. God has used ITeams to do far more in our lives, the lives of our local pastors and friends and many others that we could have ever asked for or imagined. It is difficult to leave International Teams, but we have been affirmed in this decision in many ways and through many people, including pastors of partner churches, local leaders, parents, and friends. We look forward to the next phase of life and ministry God has for us.

We are so appreciative of your faithful partnership with us over the years, up to this point, in seeing lives and communities in Soroti and beyond transformed by the power of God, and we hope and ask that you continue in that partnership – in moving forward together with us as we follow God’s lead. If you have any specific questions, feel free to write. Otherwise, we will communicate with you as soon as possible to let you know what steps we are taking and where future financial gifts can be sent.

Your brother and sister in Christ,

Tim & Angie Sliedrecht
