July Prayer Points

July 16, 2013

We so appreciate your partnership through prayer. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16b).

  • Praise God for Angie’s surprise pregnancy! She is now 10 weeks along and is thus due on 8 February 2014. Please pray for strength, perseverance and patience for Angie as she has been quite sick.
  • We are traveling to the Netherlands, United States and Canada from July 24 to October 9 for meetings, conferences, visits with partner individuals and churches, and the Ride for Refuge. Please pray for health and strength as it is going to be a busy time. For those of you in the Netherlands, we will be sharing at the new location of Crossroads International Church in Amstelveen on July 28. Our speaking schedule for the US and Canada TBA.
  • We are moving forward with the design and implementation of a vision that has been developing since we first moved to Uganda and that will be featured in our next newsletter – a retreat centre set in a remote location of beauty and peace, which provides transformational opportunities, including an intense 3-7 month discipleship program and marriage & family retreats, for primarily the young people and married couples from the communities where Team Beyond is working. Please pray with us through the next steps of putting together a detailed business plan and budget, identifying and obtaining land, and raising awareness and funds.
  • Related to the previous 2 points, while in North America, we are putting on a big campaign, via the Ride for Refuge, to raise awareness and funds for the retreat centre. Our goal is to have 300 Riders and raise $80,000. Please pray that God’s glory may shine in this campaign.

  • The Proclaimer Program is off to a great start! By the end of the training, everyone who participated was not only equipped but super excited to get Listening Groups started! More than a dozen Listening Groups are already being formed. Please pray that they will meet regularly, consistently and continuously until they have gone through the entire New Testament. Please pray that the Word of God, by the power of the Spirit, may move from the members’ heads to their hearts to their hands.
